I went to a live taping of that tv show at the BBC Studios in the late 1960s. It was arranged as a school trip and my junior school class all went there on a coach trip.
The good news was, we got to meet Leslie Crowther and Peter Glaze after the show.
The bad news was, we were all seated in the audience and they chose people from the audience to go up on stage to participate in the games, in order to win the BBC's incredibly expensive prizes.., a monogram logo pencil. I held my hand high but they never picked me, so I never got my pencil.
We had another school field trip to the BBC studios in the 1960's to watch them making an episode of Doctor Who. Now that was brilliant when the Dalek came out on the stage. After the taping they allowed us to meet and greet the Daleks (they only actually had 3 working Daleks for most of the 60's episodes) but we were still hiding behind our seats and too scared to go up and greet them. .
